Ricky R. Kalra, MD

Your Spine Pain Solution 

Dr. Ricky R. Kalra is a spine fellowship-trained and board-certified neurosurgeon.

He is originally from Plano, Texas and graduated from Rice University. After completing his medical training at Washington University in St. Louis, he started his neurosurgery residency at the University of Utah with a special interest in brain tumors and complex scoliosis surgery. Dr. Kalra spent a year researching brain tumors and was nationally recognized for his contributions with the Preuss Award by the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He also has extensive publications in spine surgery and won the Charlie Kunz Award by the Joint Spine Section for his research on lumbar fusions.

As part of his training, Dr. Kalra completed a spine surgery fellowship with training in Germany focusing on minimally invasive approaches to the spine and complex scoliosis.

Dr. Kalra has multiple leadership roles with multiple hospitals in North Dallas and resides with his family in Plano.

Dr. Kalra has been elected to D Magazine’s Best Doctors in Dallas and Best Doctors in Collin County since he started his practice.

Becca Border, PA

Rebecca Border, MS, MPAS, PA-C is originally from Dallas, TX, and grew up in Lubbock, TX.  She received a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Texas Tech University and a Master’s degree in Applied Cognition & Neuroscience from UT Dallas.  During her Master’s studies, she worked at an orthopedic clinic that specialized in spine surgery and completed an internship at the Center for Brain Health in Dallas.  Rebecca then completed a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from UNT Health Science Center before joining Kalra Brain & Spine.  She has always been passionate about neuroscience and the disease processes that affect the neurological system.  In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and dogs, doing home renovation projects, and traveling.

Megan Kalra, NP

Megan Kalra, NP is originally from Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from Westminster College with her Bachelors and Masters in nursing. Megan worked for eight years in a neurosurgery ICU and then went back for her Nurse Practitioner masters degree.

After completing her training, Megan worked in urgent care for three years where she treated many orthopedic and acute injuries.  Megan is currently a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

In her spare time Megan enjoys spending time with her family, skiing and being outdoors.

Fatima Moon, MPAS, PA-C

Fatima Moon, MPAS, PA-C was born and raised in Plano, TX. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from The University of Texas at Dallas. During her time in college, she was a research assistant in a Neuroscience lab and also worked in an Emergency Department of a Level 1 Trauma and Stroke Center. She then went to The University of Texas Medical Branch to receive her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies. She completed rotations in Neurosurgery and Neurology during her time in PA school. Fatima has always been passionate about neuropathology and the different conditions that affect the brain and spine. In her spare time, Fatima enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, and trying out different restaurants in Dallas.
